The Ministry of Education expects to unlock the potential for cooperation in the educational sphere with the DPRK. The relevant agreement was signed by sectoral agencies during Alexander Lukashenka's recent visit to this country.

"Within the framework of the agreement, student exchange and training, and internships for faculty staff are envisaged. Today, we see a high level of education in the field of natural, exact, and engineering sciences. Undoubtedly, we have something to share here," stated Minister of Education Andrei Ivanets.
He noted that many North Korean citizens are currently studying in China and Russia. However, during Soviet times, many students from that country also received education in Belarus.
"We are confident that this potential should be unlocked," said the minister.
According to him, North Korea primarily needs the training of engineering personnel, as well as specialists in natural sciences. The official did not specify what needs the Belarusian side will address in North Korea.
