"The situation could be worse than the coronavirus pandemic." Finnish President warned about the risk of a global crisis
Finnish President Alexander Stubb stated in an interview with Politico that the global situation is becoming increasingly unstable, and the development of the conflict around Iran could lead to an economic crisis comparable to or even more severe than during the coronavirus pandemic, writes Bild.

"If the crisis in the Middle East escalates, there will be a threat of a chain reaction: rising energy prices, increasing food costs, and an increased burden on the global market," he noted.
According to Stubb, there is no talk of World War III yet, but there is a risk of further escalation if the international community fails to stop the expansion of conflicts.
"We must understand that the current US administration acts pragmatically. Although we are ready to help [in confronting Iran], we do not want to be involved in this war, because it is not our war. The Iranian war is not my war. My war is Ukraine. And I try to help Ukraine in any way I can," the Finnish president said.
According to Stubb's assessment, negotiations to end Russia's war against Ukraine have reached a dead end, and there are no signs of Moscow's readiness for peace.
