Their number continues to decrease, as some types of activities can now only be carried out as a legal entity.

According to Belstat data, as of March 1, 2026, there were 202,453 individual entrepreneurs in Belarus. Compared to the beginning of last year, their number decreased by 35 thousand (as of January 1, 2025, there were 237.3 thousand individual entrepreneurs).
By region, the situation is as follows:
- Minsk — 52,728 individual entrepreneurs;
- Minsk region — 33,728;
- Brest region — 29,783;
- Gomel region — 24,573;
- Mogilev region — 21,377;
- Grodno region — 21,051;
- Vitebsk region — 19,213.
Most individual entrepreneurs (69 thousand) are in the wholesale and retail trade sector.
In second place is transport activities, warehousing, postal and courier activities (35 thousand entrepreneurs), and in third place is professional, scientific, and technical activities (almost 18 thousand).
