New rules for using shared personal mobility devices—primarily electric scooters and bicycles—are being prepared in Minsk, reported Dzianis Livanovich, Deputy Head of the State Automobile Inspectorate of the Main Internal Affairs Directorate of the Minsk City Executive Committee.

According to preliminary information, new zones are planned where movement on such devices will be prohibited. These will include hospital territories, especially those with large inner courtyards, as well as some central streets (for example, Kamsamolskaya, Leningradskaya, Kirava), which have narrow sidewalks and many pedestrians.
In addition, there are plans to restrict the parking of shared scooters and bicycles. Specifically:
- to prohibit their parking in certain areas of Independence Avenue and Pobediteley Avenue;
- not to allow them to be left closer than 50 meters from metro entrances.
However, to maintain accessibility, vehicles can still be left on adjacent streets near these avenues.
Another planned innovation is the responsibility of rental services. Companies will be obliged to react to user violations: issuing warnings or even blocking accounts. This refers to serious violations, such as riding in pairs, running red lights, riding on the roadway, or creating an emergency situation.
These measures, it is stated, are being developed together with sharing operators to make transport use safer and more convenient for city residents.
