It became known that the film "Father Minai. Partisan Legend", shot jointly by Belarusian and Russian cinematographers, is planned to be released in autumn 2026. This was reported by director and producer Igor Ugolnikov, specifying that the exact date may still change.

Scene from the film
The film is dedicated to the figure of Minai Shmyrov — a renowned leader of the partisan movement in Belarus during World War II. The plot focuses not only on combat operations but also on the hero's personal tragedy. Shmyrov faced a difficult choice: German troops threatened to kill his children, taken as hostages, if he did not cease resistance. Despite this, he continued the struggle, and his children were shot.
The action of the film takes place in 1941 in the occupied territory of Belarus. According to the plot, a partisan brigade led by Father Minai fights against German troops, disrupts their supply lines, and supports the Red Army.
The main role was played by Russian actor Aleksey Kravchenko. Other well-known actors also starred in the film. The project was implemented with the support of the Russian Cinema Fund and the Ministry of Culture of Belarus.
The intention to make such a film was reported more than two years ago, in early 2024.
