Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya congratulated BNR Council Chairwoman Ivonka Survila on her jubilee. Survila turns 90 years old today. They connected via video call.

Tsikhanouskaya thanked Ivonka Survila for her many years of work for Belarus and Belarusians. They discussed the situation in Belarus and in the world, the need to keep Belarus on the international agenda.
During the conversation, Tsikhanouskaya also noted the historical role of the BNR Council and congratulated Ivonka Survila on the release of her book «At eight years old, I was at war».

«You have dedicated your entire life to Belarus. Wherever you were, whatever positions and roles you held – you always worked for the benefit of our beloved Homeland. You raised the Belarusian question in high offices, helped Belarusians in exile, saved children after the Chernobyl tragedy. You unite all Belarusians – those who found themselves in exile, and those who remained at home.
But what impresses me most is your humanity, your warmth, and your empathy. I fondly recall each of our meetings and conversations. It is easy and calm to be with you, as if talking to a close person who understands without many words. And your advice helped me a lot at the very beginning of my political path, and I often refer back to it.
Thank you for what you do, thank you for your strength of spirit and for your love for Belarus, which you carry throughout your life,» — said Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya to Ivonka Survila.
