Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed the exchange in his Telegram channel.
"175 servicemen. Warriors of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, National Guardsmen, border guards. Privates, sergeants, and officers. And seven civilians.
Our warriors defended Ukraine in various directions: in Mariupol, at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, in the Donetsk, Luhansk, Kharkiv, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Kyiv, Kursk directions. Among them are wounded. Most have been in captivity since 2022. And finally — home.
Thank you to every unit that replenishes our exchange fund and thus brings closer the return of our people. Bringing everyone back from Russian captivity is fundamental for us. Thank you to everyone in the world who helps us in this," wrote the President of Ukraine.
