After the announcement that the Braslaw District Executive Committee canceled its decision regarding the organization and holding of the festival, Braslaw officials rushed to issue a refutation. They stated that the festival will proceed as planned, from May 22 to 24, writes "Vitebsk Vesna".

Lyudmila Novikova, head of the culture sector of the district executive committee, reported that the previous decision was canceled "due to changes in regulatory legal acts and the conditions for holding the festival." She did not explain what exactly will change, but there is a possibility that the changes will affect the international status of the festival.
"Braslaw Zornitsy" is the oldest festival of traditional culture in Belarus. It first took place in 1967, and in 2009 it gained international status. Dancers, musicians, and singers from various regions of Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, and Estonia used to gather at the festival. However, in recent years, the number of foreign performers has noticeably decreased for understandable reasons.
