Information about the alleged purchase of an expensive yacht by the wife of the Ukrainian Minister of Defense Mykhailo Fedorov appeared in Russian media on May 1. Later, other Russia-affiliated media began to massively spread it. Among them were channels associated with the Ministry of Defense of Belarus.
The publications claimed that Anastasia Fedorova allegedly purchased a 50-meter Tankoa S501 Vertige yacht for about 26 million euros on the French Riviera. As "proof," some resources distributed an image of the vessel's registration certificate. It indicated the date — April 8, 2026, and also claimed that Fedorova co-owned the yacht with a French company.
These reports specifically emphasized that there were concerns in Europe about possible misuse of funds — including a 90 billion euro loan that the EU might allocate to Ukraine.
However, as verified by the employees of the Center for Countering Disinformation, the name Anastasia Fedorova does not appear in the official registers of the owners of this vessel, and the actual documents of the French ship register have a different structure and appearance.

The spread of such false messages is part of a targeted information campaign. It aims to discredit Ukraine and Ukrainians, incite hostility towards them, and undermine support for Ukraine by EU countries.
Channels associated with the Belarusian authorities have never refuted the fakes published by them. And no one has been held accountable for their dissemination, as stipulated by law.
