At Denver International Airport, a Frontier Airlines Airbus A321 hit a person on the runway.
According to ABC News, citing a source in the aviation industry, the plane was heading to the runway for a flight to Los Angeles on the evening of May 8, when a person suddenly appeared on the field. Why they were there is currently unknown.
In the recording of conversations with air traffic controllers, the pilot says: "Tower, Frontier 4345, we are stopping on the runway. We just hit someone." He then reported an engine fire. Controllers immediately stopped all nearby aircraft and clarified how many people were on board.
Firefighters and rescuers were dispatched to the plane, and passengers were taken by bus to the airport building.
There is no official confirmation yet from Frontier Airlines or the police. The US National Transportation Safety Board has taken over the investigation.
