A video with the queue appeared on the Threads social network and sparked active discussion. Some users were surprised why people were willing to spend so much time for simple free food. Some called it a "queue for freebies" and wrote that such porridge could easily be cooked at home.
Others, on the contrary, defended the participants, noting that the matter, they said, was not in the food itself, but in the atmosphere of the holiday, tradition, and memory of the war. In their opinion, people come not just for porridge, but to feel unity and take part in commemorative events.
Psychologists explain the popularity of such events by the fact that people often rely on the behavior of others. If they see a long queue, they get the feeling that the event is important or provides some benefit. In addition, participation in a common activity creates a sense of community.
