In Grodno this year, two Belarusian-speaking classes were enrolled for 16 children
In the new academic year, classes with Belarusian as the language of instruction have reopened in Grodno. One of them started operating in secondary school No. 34, where parents can still enroll their child in the first grade, reports "Grodzenskaya Pravda".

This year, five children have already been enrolled in the Belarusian-speaking first grade of school No. 34. They will study all main subjects in Belarusian – from initial lessons to other disciplines. The school fully provides students with the necessary textbooks and study guides.
For the school itself, this form of education is not new. In the last academic year, a Belarusian-speaking class for ninth-graders was already operating here, in which eight children studied. Educators note that the teaching of main subjects, especially in primary grades, is conducted entirely in Belarusian.
Some classes, such as physical education, children attend together with students from other parallel classes. This is done so that there is a sufficiently large group for sports activities and they can be conducted more interestingly and fully.
Before the start of the academic year, the school worked with parents to help them decide on the language of instruction for their children. At one of the parent meetings, a mother spoke whose child is already successfully studying in Belarusian. She shared her own positive experience and emphasized the importance of a Belarusian-speaking environment for a child.
This year, first-graders will be taught by experienced teacher Alena Serak. In addition to regular lessons, she organizes extracurricular activities dedicated to Belarusian culture and traditions.
In the new academic year, such a class was also enrolled in secondary school No. 32 named after Laryyonava. 11 first-graders are expected to take their seats there.
