Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy commented on the large-scale attack by drones on Moscow and the Moscow region, which occurred on the night of May 17. He called these strikes "long-range sanctions" and a fair response to Russian terror.

Zelenskyy emphasized that the night strikes are Ukraine's legitimate response to Russia's protracted war and constant shelling of Ukrainian cities and villages.
"Our responses to Russia's protracted war and strikes on our cities and communities are absolutely fair. This time, Ukrainian long-range sanctions have reached the Moscow region, and we clearly tell Russians: their state must end its war," he wrote.
The President of Ukraine noted that Ukrainian drones were able to cover a distance of more than 500 kilometers from the state border and successfully hit targets, despite the fact that the Moscow region has the largest concentration of Russian air defense forces deployed.
"Ukrainian manufacturers of drones and missiles continue their work. Grateful to the SBU and all Defense Forces of Ukraine for their accuracy. The distance from the state border of Ukraine is more than 500 km. The concentration of Russian air defense in the Moscow region is the largest. But we are winning," he wrote.
