Paid Instagram to Appear — with anonymous story viewing and hidden posts

Meta has begun rolling out paid subscriptions for Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp. The company is adding exclusive features. What will they be?

Meta has begun the global rollout of paid tiers for its services within the new Meta One ecosystem. Meanwhile, the basic features of social networks will remain free, and new tiers will exist in parallel with the already familiar Meta Verified subscription.

What will appear in paid Instagram

The most significant changes await users of Instagram Plus, which costs $3.99 per month.

For this money, users and content creators will receive new privacy and promotion tools.

Users will be able to see statistics of repeated views of their stories, as well as search for specific viewers in the view lists.

Instead of a single "Close Friends" list, users will be allowed to create an unlimited number of different lists.

Story posts can be kept active longer than the usual 24 hours.

Subscribers will get the opportunity to promote one story for free once a week to attract additional views.

An official function for anonymous viewing of other people's stories will appear.

Users will be able to publish posts in such a way that they do not appear in their followers' main feed.

The paid version will provide access to custom app icons, additional pins for attaching posts to the profile, and new fonts for biography descriptions.

Other Meta One Tiers

Facebook Plus ($3.99 per month) is being launched in parallel with a similar set of features, and WhatsApp Plus ($2.99), focused on custom themes, ringtones, etc.

The company is also beginning to test advanced AI tiers Meta One Plus ($7.99) and Meta One Premium ($19.99). They will provide more resources for complex queries, deep analysis, advanced thinking modes, and video and image generation.

For commercial accounts, Essential ($14.99) and Advanced ($49.99) tiers are offered with search priority, dedicated subscription buttons in Reels, team access tools, and in-depth analytics.

Meta explains that the company aims not only to increase the number of paid services but also to reduce its reliance on advertising.
