"Journalism Faculty on Saturdays" in Warsaw and Vilnius announces new enrollment

At "Journalism Faculty," you will work on real journalistic tasks, receive feedback from practicing journalists and editors, and create your own materials for Belarusian media outlets with the support of mentors.

For whom?

"Journalism Faculty" is for you if you:

• are just starting your journey in journalism;
• are already working in media but want to systematize professional knowledge according to modern Western journalistic standards;
• want to return to the profession or change your role in the editorial office after moving;
• write, film, work with social media, but want to better understand the entire journalistic process. 

Are you already a journalist but don't know what a nut graph is? How and why to collect information using the 4-bucket method? How to generate 20 publications from one topic? How can AI make your work easier?

At "Journalism Faculty," we will tackle these questions in practice.

The program specifically for "Journalism Faculty on Saturdays" was developed by the outstanding Ukrainian journalist and media manager, media consultant Katya Gorchynska, who collaborates with The Wall Street Journal, The Financial Times, and The Kyiv Post.  

Among the trainers are only practicing journalists and editors who have coaching qualifications: Nasta Rouda, director of "Nasha Niva," TOP anchor; Siarhei Sakharau, editor-in-chief of CityDog; Volha Yarokhina, former editor of belsat.eu website; Nadzeya Belakhvostsik, chairperson of the Media Ethics Council of Belarusian independent media; Aliaksei Shota, editor-in-chief of Hrodna.life; Iryna Novik, editor, media manager; Zoya Khrutskaya, manager of PALATNO Media; Nina Shulyakova, chief editor of Devby.io; Lena Verashchagina, editor-in-chief of the media for media "Sol" and others.  

What awaits you

Training will take place offline under a single program in Warsaw and Vilnius (depending on the participant's place of residence) over 10 Saturdays.

In Warsaw — from October 3 to December 5, 2026.

In Vilnius — from October 10 to December 12, 2026.

Participation is free. The program does not cover hotel costs but may cover transportation expenses within the country of study.

What you will gain

1. Expand your professional knowledge and improve journalistic skills under the guidance of experienced journalist-trainers and editors of Belarusian independent media;
2. Understand how Belarusian media in exile function and how to adapt in this dynamic field;
3. Get acquainted with the latest practices of world media;

5. Learn everything about the news life cycle, sources of information and inspiration;
6. Complete an internship in Belarusian newsrooms with individual mentorship and publish your materials.
