Kiryl Paznyak was sentenced to three and a half years in prison, the same amount requested by the prosecution. It is not yet exactly known how long his daughter Yanina will have to spend behind bars, but three years were requested for her.

In addition, Kiryl Paznyak must pay a fine of 550 basic units (24,750 rubles). The amount his daughter must pay is not yet known.

The father and daughter were charged under two articles of the Criminal Code of Belarus — 361‑1 and 369‑1 — for creating an extremist formation and discrediting the Republic of Belarus.

Kiryl Paznyak was detained on September 4, 2025. At that time, the KGB declared the YouTube channel "Platform 375" an "extremist formation" and named the journalist its "organizer." On the same day, human rights activists reported, Kiryl Paznyak's 20-year-old daughter, Yanina Paznyak, was also detained.

It is known that in 2021-2022, the "Platform 375" channel held several debates between pro-government propagandists and their opponents who were forced to leave the country. The last broadcast took place on December 3, 2022, with the participation of Ryhor Azaronak (STV), Yury Tserakh ("SB. Belarus Today") — in Minsk, as well as Aleh Talerczyk (co-founder of the organization of former law enforcement officers "Bypol") and presenter Dzyanis Dudzinski.

The Paznyaks' case began on June 17. The first court session was scheduled for May 14, but had to be postponed due to the journalist's serious health condition. In the Akrestsina detention center, Kiryl Paznyak suffered from COVID-19 and severe pneumonia, which caused lung complications. He spent several days on a ventilator. Kiryl received treatment in the prison hospital.

Until the verdict comes into force, Kiryl Paznyak and his daughter Yanina will remain in the pre-trial detention center. The court counted the period of pre-trial detention as one day for one and a half.
