According to the investigation, the accused were part of an international criminal group, which, in addition to them, included more than 17 other people. From 2021 to 2025, they operated in Belarus and Russia.

As stated by the Prosecutor's Office, the scheme participants attempted to register ownership rights for apartments in Moscow, which belonged to deceased or long-absent owners. The procedure for inheriting property was used for this purpose.

According to the case materials, the defendants produced forged seals, stamps, certificates, and other official documents using computer and printing equipment. They also entered knowingly false information into the documents and forged signatures on behalf of other individuals.

One of the accused is additionally charged with illegal handling of ammunition.

The actions of the accused are classified under several articles of the Criminal Code, which provide for liability for attempted fraud on an especially large scale, creation and use of forged documents, as well as a number of other crimes. Three of the four accused are in custody.
