Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukrainian forces carried out long-range strikes on targets in the Caspian Sea area. According to him, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) hit vessels used for transporting military cargo from Iran to Russia, as well as a Russian warship. He reported this on his Telegram channel, noting that the results of the operation were very successful.
Zelenskyy also reported that on the night of July 25, Ukraine's Defense Forces struck a number of facilities related to the logistical support of the Russian army. According to his information, targets included an oil refinery in Tyumen, a Wildberries logistics facility in Yekaterinburg, and a fuel and lubricants depot in Rostov-on-Don.
In addition, the Ukrainian president confirmed the defeat of an enterprise in Kirov, which produces components for weapons that Russia uses in hostilities against Ukraine. He noted that this facility is located approximately 1200 kilometers from Ukraine's state border.
The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) reported additional details about the operations in the Caspian Sea. According to the agency, drones attacked an oil production platform at the Filanovsky field, cargo vessels under international sanctions used for transporting military cargo between Iran and and Russia, as well as a Project 12418 Molniya missile boat.
The SBU stated that these actions were a response to Russian strikes on Ukrainian ports in the south of the country and attempts to impede Ukrainian shipping. The agency emphasized that such operations are conducted within Ukraine's right to self-defense and will continue in response to Russia's actions.
