Teenager Jumps from Pier into Water Near Shchuchyn, Now in Intensive Care
A serious accident occurred at a reservoir in the village of Ishchalna, Shchuchyn district. A teenager sustained serious injuries after jumping into the water and is now in intensive care, reports the Water Rescue Society.

According to preliminary information, on August 1, a tour group accompanied by adults arrived at the reservoir's shore. While the adults prepared lunch, children were strictly forbidden from swimming, as the reservoir was not intended for this, which was indicated by the installed prohibitory signs.
Despite the ban, three teenagers went to the pier. One of them, a boy born in 2011, decided to jump into the water. During the jump, he hit his head on the bottom and could not swim out on his own.

His friends immediately called for help. An adult man who was nearby rushed into the water, pulled the teenager from a depth of about 1.9 meters, and performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation until the ambulance arrived. Thanks to his actions, the victim's breathing was restored.
The teenager was hospitalized. He is in intensive care, and his condition is assessed as serious.
