Belarus to increase number of electric vehicle charging stations

Belarus plans to continue developing its electric vehicle charging infrastructure. The corresponding government decree was signed by Prime Minister Aliaksandr Turchyn. The document provides for updating the Program for the creation of a state network for charging electric vehicles, taking into account the new edition of Lukashenka's decree No. 92 "On stimulating the use of electric vehicles".

In particular, the program is being brought into line with new norms, according to which RUE "Beltelecom" is designated as the second state operator responsible for the installation and maintenance of slow electric charging stations.

The decree also updates the program's activities, the list of locations and types of electric charging stations that have been installed or are planned for installation in 2024–2028. The locations of "Belneftekhim's" super-fast electric charging complexes and organizations included in its structure are being clarified.

In addition, the list of locations for charging stations for urban electric transport will be clarified.

Separately, locations are identified where slow electric charging stations are planned to be installed within the state network in 2026–2030. Plans are also being defined for the construction of "Belneftekhim's" supercharging complexes in settlements and near roadside service facilities in 2029–2030.

Currently, about 1,200 electric charging stations from various operators are operating in Belarus. In addition to "Belneftekhim", charging station networks are being developed by "Beltelecom", "Belselenergostroy", companies A-100, United Company, and other organizations.
