An Inn with Portraits of Lukashenka and Putin and Discos Until Night Opened Near Malaryta

On August 14, the "Mandarin Goose" inn opened in the agro-town of Khatyslau, Malaryta district. Previously, it was planned to be located in the building of the former traffic police post at the intersection of the Brest — Malaryta — Kobryn — Makrany highways, but this project was never realized. Now the establishment has moved almost to the very border with Ukraine — approximately 4-5 kilometers from it, writes BG.Media.

The interior of the inn is decorated in an official Belarusian-Russian style. Portraits of Alexander Lukashenka and Vladimir Putin, as well as Belarusian and Russian state flags, are placed on the walls. The owner of the establishment, Inna, calls it the "Inn of the Union State" and claims that the Russian Federation allegedly invested in the project. What exactly is meant by these investments and who financed the project is not specified.

The establishment is not only for dining. They plan to host 1990s discos, karaoke, contests, live music concerts, themed and pirate parties, and children's events with clowns and fairy tale characters.

The banquet hall is designed for almost 190 people. It will be possible to hold weddings, anniversaries, and birthdays here. The owners are also ready to host memorial events and wakes.

In the first stage, the kitchen will not operate at full capacity. Visitors will be offered cold appetizers, draniki (potato pancakes), french fries, sausages, and cold cuts. In the future, meat and smoked dishes, as well as golubtsy (cabbage rolls), are planned to be added.

The establishment also bets on low prices. A liter of beer, according to the owner, will cost about 4.6–4.8 rubles, and stronger drinks will be only slightly more expensive than in a store. In addition to food and drinks, the inn plans to sell some essential goods, including milk and sausage.

On Friday and Saturday, "Mandarin Goose" plans to operate until 2 AM, and on Sunday until 1 AM. Monday and Tuesday will be days off.

The opening of the establishment sparked a mixed reaction on social networks. Some Belarusians and Ukrainians criticized the interior, the "1990s" atmosphere, and especially the portraits of Lukashenka and Putin. Users called the establishment "nostalgia for the Soviet past," criticized the renovation, and expressed surprise that an establishment with such political symbolism opened near the Ukrainian border.

There were also positive reviews: some users noted the low prices and believed that such a leisure spot could be in demand for residents of the agro-town.

The history of "Mandarin Goose" began in winter. Initially, the establishment was intended to open at the former traffic police post. A bar, discos, a VIP zone, a hookah lounge, and even a small museum of the Great Patriotic War were planned there. This concept also drew much criticism, as the museum was to be located next to a bar, hookah lounge, and dance floor.

Ultimately, however, the idea of the former traffic police post was abandoned. According to explanations from the owner and the radically pro-government blogger PalVanych, who promoted the project, problems related to the need for expensive repairs emerged in the building. Therefore, the establishment was moved to Khatyslau.
