Italian Embassy in Minsk Hosted an Open Party in the Embassy Courtyard. Belarusians Lined Up
The Italian Embassy in Belarus announced on its social media that on August 21, an open informal event "Summer Evening in the Embassy Courtyard" would take place in the embassy courtyard at Rakovskaya Street, 16b. Everyone was invited to the event, and Belarusians appreciated it.

The organizers invited everyone interested to spend a summer evening in a pleasant atmosphere. The dress code was Smart Casual, no ties, and guests were offered welcome drinks, pizza, and ice cream.
The party was held not just for fun, but to mark the conclusion of the three-year mission of Tommaso Pietro Marchegiani, Chargé d'affaires of Italy in Belarus.

It's hard to say if the Italian diplomats expected a full house, but it happened. From the very beginning of the event, scheduled for 18:30, long queues formed. Reactions with photos and videos appeared on social networks.

"I went to the event at the Italian embassy. Today they are giving away free ice cream, pizza, and lemonade. The queues are crazy, there are quarrels, I'm going home," wrote the owner of the Threads page vandrouki_minsk.
The topic sparked an active reaction from commentators:
"When I saw that this event was quite actively promoted online, it was immediately clear that something similar would happen. Why the embassy needed this, I can't even imagine. Once the French embassy held something similar, on June 21, for the celebration of the beginning of summer. Well, there was a lot of different music, some special things to taste. And without crowds, by the way."
"What's the point of this event? Some incomprehensible crowd."
"Were there any Italians to communicate with? And do they host anything other than 'come eat'?"
"Also unclear why they didn't do pre-registration."
However, those who did participate in the event left positive feedback. For example, artist Liliya Marozava wrote:
"Of course, I couldn't miss such an event, because it's my favorite country. And now my love for this country, in the form of my interpretation of the Mona Lisa painting, will be with the ambassador himself... I am very happy that the stars aligned exactly this way. This was a truly special summer evening for me."

Another participant of the party also thanked the Italian diplomat who concluded his mission:
"Thank you very much for everything you've done for Belarus. So many events, exhibitions, so many acquaintances with wonderful people. All this will stay with us for a long time. A piece of Italy in Belarus."

Aliaksei Khliastou, a former professional singer and now a taxi driver, also attended the event. He captioned a joint photo with the Italian diplomat:
"Mr. Marchegiani is a great admirer of art and a person with a special attitude towards culture. Therefore, it was especially valuable to see how art, music, and human interaction are capable of uniting people."
