Popular Gin Producer Terminates License Agreement with Belarusian "Daughter" of Pernod Ricard
Two companies involved in the production of well-known alcoholic brands have terminated their license agreements with the Belarusian "Pernod Ricard Minsk." Information about this appeared in the official bulletin of the National Center for Intellectual Property of Belarus, writes Office Life.
The British company Allied Domecq Spirits and Wine Limited, which produces Beefeater gin, concluded an agreement with "Pernod Ricard Minsk" back in July 2008. It was terminated in July 2026.
In Belarus, three trademarks are registered under this company: two related to Ballantine's whisky and one to Beefeater gin. Both brands have been part of the French alcoholic holding Pernod Ricard since 2005.
The second agreement was terminated by the Scottish Chivas Brothers Limited, which is part of the structure of Chivas whisky producer. The Chivas brand became part of Pernod Ricard in 2001. The agreement with "Pernod Ricard Minsk" was also signed in July 2008 and terminated in July 2026.
The Belarusian company "Pernod Ricard Minsk" was founded in 1996 by the Yerevan Brandy Company. Since 1998, the factory has been part of the Pernod Ricard group.
Previously, other companies continued cooperation with the Belarusian distributor. In 2025, the Swedish The Absolut Group extended its license agreement, and the Mexican entity of Pernod Ricard concluded a new agreement for the use of the Olmeca tequila trademark.
