Kyiv is developing an autonomous satellite communication system designed to meet military and civilian needs. At the same time, the country's leadership insists on lifting restrictions on the use of the Starlink system for operations on Russian territory.

The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the existence of scientific and technical developments, reported by "Ukrayinska Pravda" with reference to the "Interfax-Ukraine" agency. According to the head of state, the country is forced to look for alternative solutions due to the threat of strengthening the enemy's satellite capabilities.
Zelenskyy emphasized that he considers it fair to allow Ukrainian military personnel to use Starlink terminals when striking Russian territory. He justified this position by stating that in late 2026 or early 2027, a number of foreign states, particularly China, may transfer relevant satellite technologies to Moscow.
Earlier, the Ukrainian leader called on US President Donald Trump to impose sanctions against Russian and Chinese companies involved in creating the "Rassvet" satellite network — a direct competitor to Elon Musk's SpaceX system.
