Vitebsk psychiatrist Ihar Pasnou died in the Navapolatsk colony. Human rights activist Pavel Levinau reported this on Facebook, citing his sources.
Ihar Pasnou was born in Vitebsk on May 30, 1968. He graduated from the Vitebsk Medical Institute with honors, worked as a pediatrician for many years, and then received additional education in "psychiatry," writes "Vitebskaya Vesna."
His name became known in 2013 when he began criticizing shortcomings in the work of Vitebsk medical institutions. After a critical speech on "Belsat" about the activities of Aliaksandr Kosinets, then chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Pasnou was forcibly placed in a psychiatric clinic. He was held there for over a month, and upon release, he tried to challenge both the court decision that sent him for treatment and the diagnosis he received. In 2014, Pasnou appealed to the Independent Psychiatric Association of Russia, and they confirmed that Pasnou did not need treatment.
In 2018, Ihar Pasnou faced criminal prosecution: he was accused of slandering Vitebsk prosecutor Yury Ramanouski. In May 2019, Judge Natallia Roshchyna found Ihar Pasnou guilty of "spreading knowingly false fabrications defaming another person (slander), published on the global internet," and sentenced him to 3 years of freedom restriction with referral to an open-type correctional institution.
However, in July 2019, he was already free. Pasnou explained the circumstances of his release quite vaguely on social media, writing that he "agreed to an amnesty" or a "deal."
Later, he got a job as a psychiatrist at the Dokshytsy Central District Hospital. While working there in 2020, he sharply criticized Aliaksandr Lukashenka for ignoring problems with the coronavirus, from which he himself suffered severely.
When exactly the trial took place, for what specific reason, and how Pasnou was punished, after which he ended up in the Navapolatsk colony, remains unknown due to Ihar Pasnou having no relatives and leading a reclusive lifestyle.
Former prisoners of this colony reported that the colony administration tormented him. Pasnou had two "special watch records" — "propensity to attack administration, take hostages, and show aggression" and "propensity to commit suicide and self-harm." Due to his "low status," his communication with other prisoners was very limited. But recently, rumors from the colony suggested Ihar Pasnou was in a very poor psychological and physical state.

Так это или нет не знаю, но что он по-своему бросил вызов лукашистам - факт.
В зоне постоянными жалобами он трохи крови попил вертухаям. За что дополнительно страдал.
С психикой у Постнова были явные проблемы (собирал мусор из ящиков, ел объедки из мусорницы и т.п.), равно как и с физическим состоянием - болезнь Бехтерева. Выглядел хреново.
Манера общения и лексикон выдавали в нём образованного человека. Пару раз общался с ним, бедолагой. Увы, что разговор быстро скатывался в непонятно куда в связи с тяжёлым психическим состоянием доктора.
Жаль его, по-человечески.
Акрамя ўсяго іншага, то гэтым няспынным тэрорам і рэпрэсіямі незаконныя ўлады яшчэ і катэгарычна раздзялілі між сабой беларускі народ. На большасць, якая засталася ў Беларусі пад рэпрэсіямі, і дыяспару, якая жыве ў іншым свеце. Часам здаецца, што гэтага ж ня можа быць, але такія навіны, як смерць у турме 58-гадовага Ігара Паснова (які відавочна - палітвязень, што б не казалі праваабаронцы за мяжой), з указаннем пра "нізкі статус" і г.д., то жорстка нагадваюць і пра нашу беларускую катастрофу, і пра іншую рэчаіснасць на дыяспары.
І, спадзяюся, што была магчымасць хоць каму з невяртухаеў яго пахаваць.

Один раз в ШИЗО был случай, что в соседней камере держали психически нездорового деда, менты над ним издевались и Постнов слыша это, требовал оказать тому деду медицинскую помощь и в знак протеста отказывался выходить и ШИЗО, был в жутких холодных условиях, но за человека заступился. Я тогда сидел в камере напротив и слышал как Постнов на каждой проверке (утром и вечером) требовал от мусоров, чтобы они оказали помощь пому деду, а мусора на Постновым только смеялись.
Жуткое заведение...
