Katie Zakaria, who worked with Trump in the elections, to become the new White House press secretary
Trump called her a loyal supporter.

Conservative political commentator Katie Zakaria has been offered the position of White House press secretary. Donald Trump called her a "loyal associate" and a "dedicated participant in the MAGA movement," writes the BBC.
"She previously participated in my election campaigns, helping to work in key 'swing' states where we won," Trump wrote on Truth Social.
"I am confident that as White House Press Secretary, Katie will achieve significant results for the benefit of our country, as she is respected by media representatives and the American people, and will be able to establish excellent cooperation with both the press and U.S. citizens, as well as with my administration."
Zakaria thanked Trump on the social network X: "To serve President Trump and the American people at this crucial historical moment – as the country celebrates its 250th anniversary – is the greatest honor for me."
Zakaria, who currently serves as communications advisor for Trump Media&Technology Group, will become the sixth official representative of the president during his two administrations.
Previously, she briefly held the position of press secretary for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
Former White House press secretary Caroline Leavitt, who left her post in August, is reportedly moving to Fox News this week.
42-year-old Katie Zakaria frequently appears on conservative TV channels Newsmax and Fox News and actively participates in the political activities of the Republican Party. In particular, in 2006, when George W. Bush was the US president, she interned at the Republican National Committee and the White House Office of Political Affairs.
According to her LinkedIn profile, since June, she has held the position of Senior Communications Advisor at Trump's media company and on the Truth Social platform. She worked at the Department of Homeland Security for a very short time — from February to March of this year.
Zakaria has long and actively defended President Trump and his administration's policies.
In a June interview with the BBC, she disputed criticism of Trump regarding the hosting of a UFC mixed martial arts tournament fight at the White House, stating that UFC principles are "the very principles on which our constitutional republic was founded."
"It's about not giving up the fight until the very end," she said. "I think there's no better embodiment of the American spirit than a good UFC fight."
