The Mogilev Regional Council of Deputies supported the proposal to expand the borders of the Drybin district. To this end, parts of the territories of the Horki, Mogilev, and Chavusy districts are planned to be annexed to it. The issue was discussed at the extraordinary 27th session of the regional council, Belta reports .

According to Iryna Petruchenya, head of the main land management department of the regional executive committee, after the border changes, the area of the Drybin district will increase by more than 20 thousand hectares. Of these, over 8.5 thousand hectares will be agricultural land.
27 settlements will be annexed to the district: two from Horki district, seven from Mogilev district, and 18 from Chavusy district.
Before discussing the proposal, the working group reportedly studied the opinions of local residents. Most people were concerned about issues related to trade, transport links, the operation of schools, kindergartens and healthcare facilities, housing and communal services, as well as re-registration.
Anatol Isachenka, Chairman of the Mogilev Regional Executive Committee, stated that a number of measures are planned to improve the economic situation in the Drybin district. These include funding from the regional budget, creating favorable conditions for investors, developing the social sphere and agriculture, and creating new jobs. After the expansion of the district, it will be subject to the benefits and preferences applicable in the southeastern districts of the Mogilev region.
Following the meeting, the deputies decided to submit a draft proposal to the Council of Ministers regarding changes to the administrative-territorial structure and enlargement of the Drybin district.
