Vitali Klitschko suggested that Kyiv residents who have the opportunity to do so should leave the city
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko stated in an interview with AFP that Russia is intensifying strikes on the capital ahead of winter, so the issue now is the city's survival, writes «RBC-Ukraine».

Klitschko emphasized that almost daily there are reports of destroyed buildings, injured and dead people, and the intensity of shelling in Kyiv is increasing.
In this regard, Klitschko suggested that residents who have relatives or friends outside the capital should consider temporarily relocating.
At the same time, he emphasized that he is not calling for a full evacuation of the city. According to the Kyiv mayor, the departure of all residents would align with one of Russia's possible scenarios – that Kyiv remains empty.
Klitschko also warned that if the water supply system is disrupted as a result of Russian attacks, a large-scale crisis could arise in the capital.
He noted that even good preparation of the city does not guarantee safety if the air defense system does not work effectively.
Russia resumed massive strikes on the energy infrastructure of Kyiv and the region at the end of September. After new attacks, electricity blackout schedules began to operate in the capital, and sometimes energy services are forced to introduce emergency power outages.
