Previously, the president was using a medium-range Boeing 737, which was not able to reach Cuba without refueling.
The new Boeing 767-300ER purchased by the national airlines Belavia can fly non-stop up to 10,400 km.
Previously, the plane was the property of Saparmurat Niyazov, the former President of Turkmenistan.
