Ukrainian units maneuvered in the Pokrovsk direction to prevent potential encirclement and stabilize the front. This wasreportedon December 8 by a source in the Armed Forces of Ukraine involved in the defensive operation in the Pokrovsk agglomeration to Suspilne.

The maneuver took place in the area of the villages of Lysivka and Sukhyi Yar: units reportedly moved to more advantageous positions, which allowed them to prevent possible encirclement and stabilize the situation on the front. The operation was prepared in advance.
According to the operational command "East" for December 8, Ukrainian servicemen repelled 53 attacks by Russian troops in various sectors of the Pokrovsk direction, including Novye Shakhovo, Novy Donbas, Belitske, Rodinske, Chervony Lyman, Pokrovsk, Hryshyno, Myrnohrad, and other settlements.
