Admission to universities for distance learning allowed without work experience in the specialty
Alexander Lukashenka signed the decree "On improving the admission campaign". As stated, the document is aimed at ensuring that applicants have equal conditions for admission to institutions of higher and secondary specialized education, and that the competitive selection is as fair as possible.

The decree established a state commission that will oversee the preparation and conduct of the admission campaign. Its permanent composition has also been approved. The commission has been granted powers to monitor, among other things, the conduct of university Olympiads, which grant the right to preferential admission to universities.
Natalia Petkevich, Deputy Prime Minister, was appointed head of the commission. Its members include representatives of the Council of the Republic and the House of Representatives, state government bodies, control structures, and pro-government public organizations.
In addition, the decree introduces changes to the admission rules. For example, to enter a university for distance or remote learning, work experience corresponding to the chosen field of education will no longer be required.
Preferential categories of applicants are also clarified in connection with the creation of the college of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Another innovation is the introduction of a profile exam in the subject "History of Belarus in the context of world history", as this discipline is now studied in grades 10-11 instead of a separate course on the history of Belarus.
