Trump: We must definitely win the congressional elections, otherwise impeachment threatens
US President Donald Trump stated that the Republican Party must definitely win the US congressional midterm elections in 2026. Otherwise, he believes, Democrats will initiate impeachment proceedings against him. Trump said this during a meeting with Republican lawmakers in Washington, writes 'European Truth'.

Trump noted that Democrats, in his opinion, are more insidious than Republicans, and they will in any case find a reason to initiate impeachment. He stressed that without winning the elections, he faces an attempt to remove him from office.
The US midterm elections will take place this year in November: then the entire House of Representatives and a third of the Senate will be re-elected. However, for a president to be actually removed from office, the support of two-thirds of senators is required, which seems unlikely, as even in the most unfavorable outcome, Republicans will retain about half of the seats in the Senate.
Donald Trump has already made history as the first US president to be impeached twice, but in both cases, this did not lead to his removal from office.
