The first Belarusian space tourist Marina Vasileuskaya said that she did not encounter prejudice from male cosmonauts.
On the contrary, Vasileuskaya herself decided to show herself as a hostess on the ISS.
"Rather, it wasn't the men, but I emphasized my peculiarity as a girl, as a little hostess. Flying away from the station, I realized that the guys hadn't had time to clean up, because it was the weekend — Saturday and Sunday. Usually, the station is cleaned on Saturday. But we arrived and slightly disrupted everyone's schedule, working without days off.
When I finished all the work, I looked around: "Okay, what do we have here? Something's a bit dirty, all the fans are clogged," Vasileuskaya said.
She asked her colleagues to give her a vacuum cleaner to clean everything.
"And I told the guys: give me a vacuum cleaner, some rags, I'll clean up here. In general, I thought I'd clean one segment, but in the end, I cleaned everything, including the entire Russian segment. And with a clear conscience, with a sense of duty fulfilled, having put things in order, I flew home," Vasileuskaya recalled.
In the same interview, she also mentioned cosmonaut Oleg Navitski. Recently, there have been persistent rumors that Vasileuskaya and Navitski secretly got married. They appear everywhere together and wear rings.
Vasileuskaya did not talk about her personal life. But she suggested inviting her everywhere specifically with Navitski. Because they have a "tradition of traveling together."
"You invite us, and we will visit your country if possible. Invite us immediately together with Oleg Viktorovich Navitski — we already have good traditions of traveling together, so it will be wonderful," Vasileuskaya said.
