Ukraine has not yet handed over the updated peace plan to the US, said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, answering journalists' questions during an online conference on December 9. But it is ready to do so tomorrow.

"We are working at the level of our advisors, today and tomorrow. I think we will hand it over tomorrow," Zelenskyy stated.
"There are different documents. There is a 20-point framework document that is constantly changing. A living structure that must correspond to the interests of Ukraine, Europe, and the world. The second is security guarantees. I am awaiting proposals from our military and their communication with the Americans. And this needs to be combined with the position of the coalition of the willing. The third document is reconstruction. It must work when the war ends or there is a ceasefire," Zelenskyy added.
He stated that Kyiv would do everything in its power to hold a high-level meeting with the US within the next two weeks.
Regarding the possibility of joining NATO, he noted:
"We are realists. We really want to join NATO â it's fair. But we know for sure that neither the US nor several other countries currently see Ukraine in the alliance. And Russia, of course, will never see us there."
According to Zelenskyy, the US wants Ukraine to have realistic security guarantees approved by Congress.
"So that we feel it, so that we have weapons. So that, if anything, sanctions would be applied, so that we have air defense [...] We have not yet worked out the details."
He also emphasized that he is ready to hold presidential elections within the next 60-90 days, provided security is guaranteed during their conduct:
"Since the US President is raising this issue today, I will answer briefly â I am ready for elections. Moreover, I am now asking the US, perhaps together with European colleagues, to help me guarantee security for holding the elections, and then within the next 60-90 days, Ukraine will be ready to hold elections."
Zelenskyy also appealed to Ukrainian parliamentarians to prepare legislative proposals to amend the election law during martial law.
Regarding the territorial issue, the President of Ukraine noted that Russia insists on the transfer of part of its territories to it, but Ukraine is not considering this. According to Zelenskyy, the initiator of this idea, contained in the US peace plan, was Russia itself. However, he neither confirmed nor denied information that the US is pressing Ukraine to agree to territorial concessions within the framework of the "peace plan."
As for Ukrainian territories that were seized by Russia long ago, Zelenskyy acknowledged:
"Today, regarding Crimea, we do not have the strength to return our absolutely Ukrainian peninsula of Crimea. And maybe I said that at the first meeting [with Donald Trump]. I think I was right. And I will say frankly, yes, today we do not have the strength for all of this. We do not have sufficient support for all of this."
