An African lioness Kiara has arrived in the capital of Belarus from Belgorod.

After a long journey, the young female settled into a spacious enclosure and is now undergoing an adaptation period, the zoo informed Minsk-news.
According to zoo staff, the graceful predator was born in 2023, so by pride standards, she is still a teenager. The journey and change of environment were stressful for the animal — at first, the lioness was nervous and bared her teeth. However, now, under the careful supervision of specialists, her mood has improved. A balanced diet has been developed for the predator, and all conditions have been created for her to quickly settle into her new home.
— Quite recently, a bride arrived for our wonderful Sherkhan — a beautiful lioness with delicate spots on her belly, — said Tatyana Soltysava, a junior research fellow at the zoo. — She is still very young. Now she is getting used to the new environment and to the staff who care for her.
Despite initial anxiety, Kiara shows a calm and curious disposition, observing visitors with interest. But the main event is yet to come: once the adaptation is complete, the lioness will be introduced to the local king of beasts — the lion Sherkhan.
