Valentin Zankovich — the last of the authors of the Khatyn memorial — has died
Belarusian sculptor and architect Valentin Zankovich, one of the authors of the Khatyn memorial, has died, Tochka.by reports . He was 88 years old.

Valentin Zankovich was the last of the group of sculptors who created the Khatyn Memorial Complex. He also co-worked on the "Minsk — Hero City" stele and the "Brest Hero-Fortress" memorial.
Among Zankovich's other well-known works are the monumental-decorative composition "The Run" at the Dinamo stadium, the "Partisan Belarus" monument, the "Orpheus" sculpture near the music college building on Griboyedov Street in Minsk, and many others.
Details regarding the cause of death have not yet been reported.
