Lithuanian border guards found a batch of cigarettes worth 260 thousand euros on the border with Belarus
A large batch of smuggled Belarusian cigarettes, amounting to 50 thousand packs, was found in a forest wilderness on the border with Belarus.

The abandoned packages with loops attached to them were scattered within a 20‑meter radius. Border guards set up an ambush, but for several hours, no one came for the cigarettes, the reform.news outlet noted.
The cigarettes were found in the forest near the village of Kodžiai in the Lazdijai district. This area is located in the middle of the Hrodna Forest (Grodno Pushcha), right on the border with Belarus, which runs along the Marykha River. On the Belarusian side, there is a farmstead of the same name, Kodzi, in the Voranava district.

After the unsuccessful ambush, the packages were taken to the border post. Inside each package were two boxes with the logo of the Hrodna factory 'Neman'. In total, 50 thousand packs of Minsk 5 Superslims and Queen Menthol cigarettes were confiscated.
Their value is estimated at 259,500 euros. A pre-trial investigation has been launched into the fact of smuggling.
