Women were ordered to rejoice: propagandists and official beauties reacted to Lukashenka's statement
While people joke that it's too ironic to declare the Year of the Belarusian Woman as the Year of the Horse, Belarusian women close to power are trying to demonstrate nationwide support.
During his New Year's address, Alyaksandr Lukashenka declared 2026 the Year of the Belarusian Woman. By the way, why such a sudden decision in a country where «the Constitution is not made for a woman»?
As if on command, girls who participated in the «Miss Belarus» contest in different years reacted to the news. In their stories, they reposted a video in which Lukashenka congratulates on the New Year, with captions like: «Girls, this year will definitely be ours!»
This was done by Nastassia Laurynchuk (Vice-Miss Belarus 2018), Eleanora Kachalouskaya (Miss Belarus 2023), and Aliya Andreeva and Hanna Bychko (contestants in 2025).

By the way, the latter of the girls sat very close to the politician at his recent ball.

Propagandists also quickly joined in: young journalist Tatsiana Bialeckaya from «SB. Belarus Today», BT presenters Nina Mazheyka and Nastassia Rudzkaya, and Katsiaryna Zabenko from STB.

Sviatlana Isayonak (daughter-in-law of former Information Minister Lilia Ananich), who last year exchanged her job at «SB. Belarus Today» for a position in the secretariat of the House of Representatives, wrote an entire post. She praised Lukashenka's «wisest decision».

Hanna Kviloria — wife of Belarus's Ambassador to Turkey Anatol Hlaz and BT presenter — recorded a TikTok to Lukashenka's words about women. Hanna's video was watched by 21 people in 5 hours.

In Threads, however, the topic was approached more thoroughly. Coincidence or not, but in many cases here too, Lukashenka's decision is praised by girls participating in various beauty contests — for example, life coach Natallia Kivachuk, who in 2025 won the title of Miss Viva Braslav.

Blogger Ruslana Karakhoyeva, who writes about herself: «I get money for posting a couple of stories while lying in bed», was also delighted with Lukashenka's idea.
For some reason, Ruslana took offense at criticism of her flattering post: «This post was written solely with the aim for us to rejoice at the pleasant words said about women, and not to provide space for political armchair polemics and throwing dirt.»

Among the women praising Lukashenka, there are several whose photos are posted on adult websites.
There are also those who only recently received Belarusian citizenship.

Are all these posts approving Lukashenka's decision a reaction to the recent flashmob after Maria Kalesnikava was released? Women (and not only women) painted their lips with red lipstick in support of the former political prisoner.
It's interesting, will the state fight domestic violence this year? Will they do something about employers who say in interviews, «You have a small child — you'll be constantly running to sick leave. We won't hire you!»? And as for whether political prisoners — who are also Belarusian women — will be released, it's even dangerous to write about in comments if a person is in Belarus. Because the politician who «doesn't fight women» easily throws young mothers and pensioners behind bars.
