Lithuanian Carriers Association Admits Not Knowing How Many Trucks Are Currently Detained in Belarus
The Lithuanian national association of road carriers Linava stated that it does not have accurate data on the mass return of trucks detained in Belarus, which was previously announced by the Lithuanian government. In this regard, Linava called on carrier companies to provide official information regarding the current situation.

"At this moment, a situation arises where publicly available data from state bodies regarding vehicles detained in Belarus are misinterpreted or do not reflect the real scale of the problem. To avoid various interpretations and ensure the accuracy of facts, it is necessary to collect unified, reliable, and officially confirmed data from companies," Linava states in its appeal.
Therefore, the association appealed to all Lithuanian carriers — both members of Linava and those not belonging to the organization — with a request to submit officially confirmed data on trucks that were or still remain in Belarus. This information is also needed for possible legal actions and consideration of compensation claims.
On December 23, Lithuanian Prime Minister Inga Ruginienė stated that a significant part of Lithuanian trucks that were blocked in Belarus had allegedly already returned to work. According to her, some trucks are still in Belarus, but the situation is gradually being resolved. However, she did not specify the exact number of trucks already operating.
