A group of 15 Bundeswehr soldiers unexpectedly left Greenland and flew out of Nuuk, the island's capital. BILD recorded the boarding of German officers and soldiers on an Icelandair flight. The mission concluded earlier than planned, with no public statements or official explanations from Berlin.

According to BILD, the order to return came from Germany early this morning. All previously scheduled meetings and events were urgently canceled. The day before, group leader Stefan Pauli said that the soldiers were awaiting Berlin's decision regarding possible further steps.
The reasons for the sudden departure have not yet been stated. According to one version, the decision may be related to the escalating conflict around Greenland and new trade threats from US President Donald Trump, however, there is no official confirmation of this.
The German soldiers arrived on the island only a few days ago as part of a NATO countries' mission at the invitation of Denmark.
