Political prisoner Aliaksandr Kamlyonak went on hunger strike in Ivacevichy colony
He kept it for 11 days.

The colony previously had a branch of the Ivacevichy College, where convicts could receive professional education (welders, plasterers, etc.). However, this opportunity has recently become unavailable for political prisoners.
Aliaksandr Kamlyonak wrote a complaint to the Ministry of Education, describing the ban on education. The letter was managed to be passed to freedom indirectly, as the colony administration does not allow any complaints from within. From freedom, this appeal was then sent to the Ministry of Education. This provoked a sharp reaction. Aliaksandr was summoned for interrogation and demanded to explain how he managed to send the complaint. He replied that he simply sent an ordinary letter. After this, he was placed in the SHIZA (punishment cell).
There, in protest, Aliaksandr declared a hunger strike and kept it for 11 days. After this, he was transferred to the Navapolatsk colony (PC-1), where he was immediately sent back to the SHIZA (punishment cell), reports DissidentBY.
Aliaksandr Kamlyonak worked in a locomotive depot but was fired after 2020 and left the country. In 2024, he returned to Belarus, was detained, and sentenced to three years
