Minsk Mayor Wanted a Government Position, But Lukashenka Didn't Allow It
Some people in the government were allegedly also in favor of transferring Kukharaŭ.

Alexander Lukashenko received a report from the Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee, Vladimir Kukharev, BelTA reports.
Lukashenko noted that he has no major complaints about the current head of Minsk, but «like a man, he suggested to the mayor of Minsk to discuss his desire to move to another position.»
They say that Kukharev would like to move to a position in the government, and some people in the government support this. But according to Lukashenko, managing the capital is an important thing, Minsk is the showcase of Belarus, and Kukharev is doing a good job with this.
Vladimir Kukharev has been the Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee since September 2020. From 2018 to 2020, he was the Deputy Prime Minister. As mayor, he replaced Anatoly Sivak, who took the position of Deputy Prime Minister.
