Russian gas carrier attacked in the Mediterranean Sea. Its condition is hopeless
The Russian vessel "Arctic Metagaz", transporting gas from Murmansk, was hit in the Mediterranean Sea. The Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation claims an attack by Ukrainian naval drones, launched from the territory of Libya.

The incident occurred on March 3 near the territorial waters of Malta. According to the Russian side, the tanker was attacked by unmanned boats. All 30 crew members were successfully evacuated, and they are safe.
Russia called what happened an "act of international terrorism and piracy," accusing European Union countries of connivance.
This is the first such incident of an attack on a Russian vessel in this region, which significantly expands the geography of threats.

Military expert Jan Matveev published photos of the vessel's condition.
"Even if it doesn't sink, it's unlikely to be repaired," he writes.
