We compared tariff plans.

Starting from February 23, Belarus began limiting mobile internet speed on unlimited traffic plans after using 30 gigabytes per month. Here's what the mobile internet situation looks like in two neighboring EU countries.

Poland

Mobile operator T-mobile in Poland offers a tariff plan with unlimited calls and internet for 75 zlotys per month. This is about 60 Belarusian rubles.

The tariff description states that there are no restrictions on data volume or maximum speed. However, the tariff can only be used on devices that are not modems or routers. Internet can only be used within Poland.

At operator Plus, an unlimited internet tariff plan costs 90 zlotys (about 72 rubles).

The subscriber also receives 30 gigabytes of roaming traffic within the EU, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Ukraine, and Moldova.

An unlimited plan from operator Orange costs 100 zlotys (about 80 rubles). Within Poland, internet is not limited by volume or speed. The tariff also includes 34 GB of internet in roaming in EU countries.

However, with operator Play, "unlimited" internet is not entirely unlimited, as after 24 months of signing the contract, the subscriber only gets 300 gigabytes of internet within Poland without speed restrictions.

Such a tariff costs 95 zlotys per month (about 75 rubles).

After exhausting 300 GB, the internet is not disconnected but simply becomes slow. Roaming within the EU is limited to 32 GB.

Lithuania

Lithuanian mobile operator Labas offers a tariff with unlimited calls and internet without speed restrictions for 22 euros per month (about 74 rubles).

It also includes 34 GB in roaming within the EU, UK, and EEA countries. And even 2 gigabytes in third countries, including Belarus.

A tariff with 31 GB of roaming only within the EU costs 20 euros (about 67 rubles).

Operator Ežys offers unlimited internet in Lithuania and 29 GB in the EU for 19 euros per month (about 64 rubles). There is no mention of speed limits after reaching a certain volume.

Lithuanian operator Telia has a tariff for 30.90 euros (about 104 rubles), which includes unlimited internet speed and volume within Lithuania and a full 59 GB in the EU, UK, EEA countries, Ukraine, and Moldova.

Additionally, it includes 500 MB in several other countries, among which are Belarus and even Russia.

Lithuanian operator Bite offers unlimited internet for 29 euros per month (about 97 rubles). In addition to unlimited within Lithuania, the tariff includes 50 GB in the EU and UK.

And also 2 GB in third countries. Belarus is not on this list.

It turns out that out of 8 operators in these two countries, only one (Polish Play) has a speed restriction after exhausting 300 GB per month, which is 10 times more than the 30 gigabyte limit in Belarus.

At the same time, tariffs in Poland and Lithuania are more expensive than Belarusian ones, but they usually include unlimited calls within the EU and a large volume of internet traffic in roaming.

If you live in Poland or Lithuania, you can not only compare mobile internet usage conditions but also support Nasha Niva with a portion of your income tax. It won't cost you a single cent.

You simply redirect 1.2–1.5% of the tax you have already paid when filing your annual declaration.

Here is a detailed instruction on how to do this in Poland. If you work in Lithuania, click here.
