"Now, probably hundreds of people are falling on the streets and getting injured. I managed to fall on a flat surface, in the living room, I slipped: I fell, hit my head on hard furniture, tried to soften the blow with my hand and caught on a sharp object, so I tore the soft tissues of my hand. A nerve was damaged, not severed, but seriously damaged. The wound on my face will heal, but the hand will take longer to heal, because due to the nerve damage, my fingers are numb, especially the middle one. But, I think this is for the best, perhaps it will protect me from making indecent gestures," the president joked.
He assured that his health is fine.
"My health is good, I even feel a little stronger, my immune system is mobilized," Nausėda said.
A week ago, Nausėda underwent surgery for a laceration on his hand. He spent the night after the operation in the hospital. Around the same time, an illegal fence near the president's house was demolished. The head of state noted that these two events are unrelated.
