Israel attacked the 88 members of the council who are voting to elect the next supreme leader of Iran, reports Tasnim agency. The building of the office of the Assembly of Experts in the Iranian city of Qom came under attack.
It is reported that all people were allegedly evacuated from the office in advance, and no one was injured.
The Assembly of Experts for Leadership — an body consisting of 88 clerics (mujtahids). It is responsible for appointing a new Supreme Leader of Iran, who is to replace the 86-year-old Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, killed on February 28 as a result of Israeli and US strikes.
