AFP reported the death of American actor and director Robert Duvall, citing a statement from his wife. He was 95 years old.

Robert Duvall became known for his roles in films such as 'M*A*S*H', 'The Godfather', and 'Apocalypse Now'. He appeared in over a hundred films throughout his career.
The actor's career began on television in the 1960s. In 1962, he made his big screen debut, playing Boo Radley in the film 'To Kill a Mockingbird'. A few years later, in 1966, he began performing on Broadway.
In 1984, Duvall won an Academy Award for Best Actor for his role in the film 'Tender Mercies'. Additionally, he was nominated for an Oscar six times for his roles in 'The Godfather', 'Apocalypse Now', 'The Great Santini', 'The Apostle', 'A Civil Action', and 'The Judge'.
He was also awarded a BAFTA Award and four Golden Globe Awards.
