"Do you want your legs to give out, like Ihnatovich's?" Losik recounted how he crossed paths in prison with those convicted of Dzmitry Zavadsky's murder.
Former political prisoner Ihar Losik wrote on his Facebook page another set of memories from his time in captivity. This time, he recalled how he indirectly crossed paths in prison with former officers of the "Almaz" special forces unit, who were imprisoned for the abduction and murder of journalist Dzmitry Zavadsky in 2000 — Valery Ihnatovich and Alyaksey Huz.

When I was on a hunger strike in Zhodzina in January 2021, they tried to persuade me to stop it in many different ways. And the head of the medical unit in Zhodzina once said: do you want your legs to give out from a long hunger strike, like Ihnatovich's? He hasn't eaten for more than 50 days and will no longer be able to walk. The same will happen to you; we will feed you through a tube or an enema.
Already in March, when I slit my veins and was thrown into solitary confinement for it, I heard Ihnatovich constantly screaming and moaning in pain nearby. I understood it was him because the guards sometimes called him by his surname. He screamed simply for days — both day and night, and it was very terrifying. The guards, however, laughed at it and made jokes about him.

Alyaksey Huz was held in the Mogilev pre-trial detention center. He tells no one who he is or what he's imprisoned for. For 20 years, or maybe more, he has been in solitary confinement. They tried to put people in his cell, but he always beat them, including SIZO (pre-trial detention center) staff, so over time, they left him alone and made no more such attempts.
His beard is below his waist. He is taken out for walks in handcuffs on his hands and feet. He already talks to himself, laughs, but can maintain a dialogue via inter-cell communication. He never talks about his "case", saying something like "robbery, nothing interesting." He constantly throws dishes out into the corridor when they bring them to his cell. It seems he should be released already, as he was sentenced to 25 years.
