Rugby player Mariya Shakura, who was captain of the Belarusian national team, sentenced in a political criminal case
In 2020, the girl was detained at Akrestsina.

The Minsk City Court handed down a verdict to 35-year-old Mariya Shakura.
Mariya is a well-known rugby player; she was captain of the Belarusian national team. She was a bronze medalist at the European Beach Rugby Championship in 2017.
At the same time, she worked in furniture manufacturing.

In 2020, the girl was imprisoned for 10 days, but they later released her.
It is unknown when a criminal case was opened against Mariya and whether she was held in a pre-trial detention center.
Shakura was tried for "facilitating extremist activities" (Part 1, Article 361-4 of the Criminal Code). Hundreds of people detained in the Hayun case are tried under this article, but it is unclear whether Mariya had the same accusation.
The athlete was sentenced to restricted freedom with supervision (commonly referred to as "home chemistry" in Belarus).
