Ancient Cobblestones Found Under Asphalt During Road Repair in Pinsk
During the reconstruction of Brestskaya Street in Pinsk, workers found old stone paving under a layer of asphalt and soil. The discovery was made by builders working on the next stage of modernization of the city's main thoroughfare, writes the "Media-Polesye" publication.

Specialists believe that these cobblestones appeared during the interwar period, when the territory was part of Poland, i.e., before 1939. Such roads are often popularly called "trylinka" or "Polish road". To prepare the base for a new modern road, the ancient paving is now being dismantled.
Brestskaya Street is considered one of the oldest western thoroughfares of the city. Historians note that a road existed at this location as early as the late 15th century. The Brest Gate was located here, through which travelers would exit onto the Great Brest Road.
The street began to acquire its modern appearance in the 19th century, when Pinsk developed as an industrial center. A match factory, a plywood factory, and sawmills appeared near the road. However, for a long time the road remained in poor condition: after rains, it turned into a swamp. Therefore, in the early 20th century, stone paving became an important solution, as it allowed for the movement of transport to enterprises.
Now, a wider and more modern thoroughfare is being built in place of the old road. The discovered fragment of the paving has become a reminder of the history of Pinsk's development and how the city gradually transformed into an industrial center.

она там была ВСЕГДА.. колхозные варвары частично её разобрали и перенесли на главную площадь, где она вообще не к месту в итоге.
а остальное эти уроды просто закатали в асфальт.
это знают все. эта "брусчатка" раньше была до самого Бреста. еще лет 20 назад она эксплуатировалась от Пинска за Дубое к трассе М-10. но всю эту историю где-то выкопали, а где-то закатали в асфальт.
